The Old Ratclifan 2012 | Introductionhe Old Ratclifan 2012 | News from the College T Ratcliffe’s Catholic Ethos The students and staff, families and friends of Ratcliffe College have yet again proved generous in their participation in the many liturgical and charitable events of 2011-12. Fr Simon Giles (60) and his Chaplaincy Team have overseen these activities, but it is only through the joyful work and giving of the broader College community that we have been able to celebrate and enact our Catholic ethos so well. The Chaplaincy Team thanks all who have been involved in our work this year. Collecting for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal Masses, and our thanks extend to all clubs, to spend time with members of who took part. This year, musicians, readers and Drama students from every age group collaborated to lead us beautifully and prayerfully into the Easter holidays. Reconciliation days herald Advent and Lent, during which students attend a brief workshop before entering the Chapel for the opportunity to speak with a priest if they wish. Structured programmes of preparation for both First Holy Communion and Confirmation are offered to students, and this year both programmes were most successful.
