‘To the greater glory of God and in honour of the
Immaculate Virgin Mary’
1865-2015
The Ratcliffian Association held its first meeting on July 11th 1865 with the motto:
‘To the greater glory of God and in honour of the Immaculate Virgin Mary.’
The Association has continued to grow ever since. In June 1965, the Ratcliffian
Association organised a banquet in celebration of its Centenary, where ‘300
Members of the Association and their guests sat down to the Banquet in a splendid
marquee especially erected for the occasion on the Square.’
Not to be outdone, on June 20th and 21st this year, the Ratcliffian Association and
the College hosted a weekend of celebrations, culminating in a Grand Luncheon in
the Square with over 300 guests. A full report is on page 24.
