RATCLIFFIAN ASSOCIATION
THERE IS COUNCIL
NO GREATER INTRODUCING THE NEW SOCIAL COMMITTEE
GIFT At the beginning of the year, we decided to create a new Social Committee, made up of Old Ratcliffi ans from a range of class years,
to support the delivery of the OR events calendar. This committee would work alongside Sarah Gretton and Katherine Lang in the
Association Offi ce, as well as Ben Jackson (88), Association President.
Elisabeth Carley-Leonard (10), Alison Court (née Mason) (98), Sam Spillane (née Murphy) (91), Steve Clark (79), and Richard Gamble
(64) answered our call and agreed to offer their time, expertise, and ideas. All of these Old Ratcliffi ans either have events backgrounds,
are active members of the Ratcliffe community, or are particularly well connected within the alumni network. We are delighted to have
them all on board!
THAN THE Little did we know, at the start of the year, that a global pandemic was just around the corner, and that restrictions to our daily lives
would somewhat foil our plans for 2020. However, in a typical year, the Association hosts around 15 events, from reunions and retreats
to bar nights and sporting events. By working with representatives of the OR community in 2021, we hope that we can continue to adapt
GIFT OF to the ever-changing world we live in, delivering a full and varied events calendar that is both engaging and relevant to our members.
If you have any ideas regarding OR events or other activities that you would like to put forward to the Social Committee, please email us
at alumni@ratcliffecollege.com.
EDUCATION RATCLIFFIAN ASSOCIATION AMBASSADORS
The Ratcliffi an Association is delighted to welcome on board current Year 13 pupils Eisha Patel, Emma Turner, Lauren Brown, Maddy
Lindop, Molly Whitaker, Samuel Seidu, and Will Daly as its Association Ambassadors for 2020-2021.
Each year, a number of students are chosen to represent the Sixth Form by supporting the work of the Ratcliffi an Association, particularly
in its engagement with current pupils. Their role is important to us, because it provides a vital link between the Association and the
Legacy Giving This is an equally important role for the Ambassadors themselves, as it offers a chance to get involved with the planning and running
College; it allows us to tap into the students’ knowledge, experience, and ideas, to continuously fi nd new ways to engage with them.
of Association activities, such as social, sporting, and careers events. It also provides them with opportunities to develop their practical
skills, such as copy and report writing. All of these areas are useful for their UCAS applications and future CVs.
On leaving Ratcliffe, these students will provide an important connection to our youngest members of the OR community, offering
