SPORTS EVENTS THE MIDLANDS PUBLIC SCHOOLS OLD BOYS’
GOLF MATCH 1
FRIDAY 28TH APRIL 2017
Congratulations to the Old Ratcliffian team for winning the Old
Boys’ Centenary Salver at Luffenham Heath Golf Club for the
first time since the plate started in 2011!
The day involved eighteen holes in the morning and eighteen
holes in the afternoon, with the two best scores qualifying
from the three pairs representing each school’s alumni; teams
from Loughborough Grammar, Oundle, Stamford, Uppingham 2
and Ratcliffe attended. This year’s Old Ratcliffian team was
represented by Abe Mee (92) (afternoon session), Scott Piecha
(00) (morning session), Declan McAuley (16), Sean McAuley
(05), Dominic Howkins (00), Lindsay Buckenham (00) and Saroj
Ekanayake (00).
After the morning session, the ORs sat in third place, but only
by one point; this still meant that they were in contention, and

in the bottom two! The team delivered two strong rounds in

team won with a total of 166 for the day, with the Old Oundelians
SUNDAY 13TH MARCH 2016 coming second with 159 points.

The Ratcliffian Association Sports Day comprised of a women’s Golf Secretary
netball match and a men’s hockey match, with the Old Ratcliffians
playing against the School’s first teams. As the match reports
below show, a great day was had by all. 3

This fantastic netball match saw the ORs playing against
Ratcliffe’s best ever squad to date, as the School team had
just got through to the National Schools’ finals. It seemed an MEN’S HOCKEY
