FAMILY CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS EVE VIGIL MASS
TUESDAY 24TH DECEMBER 2019
EVENTS A beautiful candlelit mass was held at 5pm on Christmas Eve in
the Ratcliffe College Chapel, bringing together Old Ratcliffi ans,
the Ratcliffe community, and current families on the holiest
of nights.
In a twinkling service, led by Ratcliffe’s Father President,
Fr Philip Sainter (69), children were invited to the altar to
hear the Nativity story. Old Ratcliffi ans also took part in the
service, providing readings and helping with the collections and
offertory procession.
With the Chapel hosting over 500 guests, the evening was the
perfect start to the traditional holiday. All of the guests were
invited to share in mulled wine and mince pies after the service
in the candlelit Refectory – a real treat for the returning ORs.
