THE SIXTH FORM SOCIAL
WEDNESDAY 22ND JANUARY 2020
The Ratcliffi an Association hosted another successful Sixth Form Social in January, welcoming back Old Ratcliffi ans to their beautifully
refurbished bar. This event was an opportunity for Ratcliffi an Association Manager Sarah Gretton to introduce the Association to Years
12 and 13, and for the students to socialise with Old Ratcliffi ans.
Association President Ben Jackson (88), along with his sister Louise Jackson (91), Chair of Governors Louise Marsden (née Bullen) (91),
and newly appointed governor Sam Spillane (née Murphy) (91), all joined in with Mike Sleath’s legendary pub quiz, forming a team with
Headmaster Jon Reddin. They were a competitive bunch who, sadly, fi nished a close second behind a team of Year 12 girls!
A delicious ‘fi sh and chip supper’ was served from a traditional fi sh and chip van, which the guests thoroughly enjoyed, as well as drinks
from the bar. Former staff members Nigel Taylor, Anne Taylor, and Graham Sharpe also returned for the evening, taking part in the quiz
and enjoying being back at school with fellow staff members and their former pupils.
