Lourdes Pilgrimage: The Ratcliffe Rosmini Group

Friday 19th - Friday 26th July 2013

This was our fourth year as the Ratcliffe College and
Rosminian Parish Family Group, or HCPT Hosanna House
Group 512.
I was delighted that we were a good fifty Pilgrims in
number and we were able to fill the St Bernadette’s side of
Hosanna House. We were once again the largest Hosanna
House Group to travel with HCPT.
We travelled as a group to Lourdes during the week of
the 19th-26th July 2013 and we were well represented
by students, staff, governors, Old Ratcliffians, and other
members of the Rosminian Parishes and Rosminian
Family:
A total of five ORs joined the Pilgrimage: Hattie Wheeler (current pupil), Amelia Power (13) & Chloe
Theobald (13) with Bettie Roberts & Sue McEvoy
Danielle Fairbrother (02) is now in her twelfth year with
the group and for the fourth time she was my Deputy
Group Leader. She proved herself to be an excellent deputy I would like to thank the Ratcliffian Association for its

Fr Anthony Meredith IC (57) was able to join the group as
Chaplain. We were very honoured that he was able to take
time out of his busy schedule in Rome to be with us.
James Morley (08) is now in his sixth year with the group.
James helped to care for a young man with cerebral palsy.
He has gained a great deal of confidence in his caring skills
and is very much part of the team.
Peter Tetlow (78) was able to join the group and we very
much benefited from his wealth of experience of Lourdes.
This year we were honoured to be part of the hospitality
group who welcomed Archbishop Vincent Nicholls to
Hosanna House for his first ever visit. Fr Anthony Meredith,
Paul Milnes and Anthony Harris enjoyed a cup of tea and a Fr Anthony Meredith (57) with Archbishop Vincent Nichols

like to go as carers. We are very much in need of a Group
Doctor to work alongside Dr Sheelagh Bolt and learn from
her many years of experience before she retires. We are
also in need of helpers who are qualified nurses or carers. If
you are in the medical profession and able help in this way,
please do not delay in contacting me.
All new helpers must attend an Induction Day (this is
usually held at Ratcliffe College on a Sunday in May during
the year of travel).
Any ORs wishing to take part next year in the Pilgrimage to
Lourdes (provisionally booked as the 18th-25th July 2014)
should contact Jackie Bennett at the Ratcliffian Association
