The Ratcliffian Association Birmingham Dinner
Friday 17th May 2013
The Opus Restaurant, Birmingham
The biennial Birmingham Dinner was happening at Ratcliffe and Abe
took place in the award-winning Mee (92) entertained guests with
Opus Restaurant in the heart of the some jokes, one of which he had used
city. Ed Gamble (95) once again at the London Dinner, much to the
kindly agreed to host the event and amusement of some!
act as MC. The dinner itself was
held in a private dining room which Old Ratcliffians from the Class of ‘97
was just small enough to provide an were well represented, including Mark
intimate setting for about thirty Old Snutch (the Ratcliffian Association
Ratcliffians and their guests. Gareth Rugby Captain), Will Ventham and
Lloyd gave a progress report on what Jessica Jordan (née Gamble). Louise
Marsden (née Bullen) (91) attended,
along with her classmate, Sam Gareth Lloyd & Michael Clarke (67)
Spillane (née Murphy) (91) and their
husbands. Other Old Ratcliffians in
attendance were: Philip Jones (59),
Peter Deeley (59), Fr David Tobin
(59), Fr Simon Giles (60), Richard
Gamble (64), Jeremy Knight Adams
(65), Michael Clarke (67), Andrew

The Ratcliffan Association Reunion Weekend
Saturday 6th – Sunday 7th July 2013
Ratcliffe College
This year’s annual Reunion Weekend
was held in glorious sunshine. The
Dinner took place in a marquee which
was sponsored by Old Ratcliffian
Amey Rayns (08) of Bradgate
Events. It was a beautiful setting with
candlelit tables and fairy lights which
created an intimate atmosphere.
Before the dinner, there was a
champagne reception on the South
Terrace overlooking the cricket pitch
and the marquee. The guests dined The Class of ‘83
on barbecued legs of lamb, with each
table having a designated carver fully
kitted out in a chef’s hat and apron!
