DRAMA REVIEW 2015

This year, the students have produced a number of powerful Beauty & the Beast
performances, ranging from Under Milkwood by the Year 12 AS
Drama and Theatre Studies group, to Dr Faustus from the Year
11 GCSE students, in addition to Teechers and Kindertransport.
Other year groups also had an opportunity to perform. Year 10
took part in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s adaptation of
Beauty and the Beast and a modern version of Rapunzel. Year 9
put on hilarious pantomimes, with the traditional ‘dames’ fully
clad in tights and ball gowns! Under the watchful eye of Jessica
Monk, Year 8 presented a full-length rendition of A Midsummer
Night’s Dream with a cast of over eighty, and Year 7 performed
a delightful set of Irish Myths and Legends. This year also saw
many new students take roles backstage, working with lighting
and sound - in particular, Peter Cotter, who won the ‘Ricks Prize
for Technical Support’. Megan Macmillan (née Stephens) (01)
