RATCLIFFE STUDENTS’ SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS
Of the numerous students at Ratcliffe who show great sporting
skill and ability, particular mention must go to the following:
CYCLING
Tom Chandler (16) had another excellent year on his bike,
representing Scotland in the National Senior Cycling
Championships and winning a bronze medal.
GOLF
Emily Dunne (Year 11) is in the England Golf squad for Under 16s.
FENCING
Fencing is a rapidly-growing sport here at Ratcliffe, with Niamh
Noble (Year 11) being selected in the England Under 15 squad Olivia Back (in white) takes to the hockey pitch
this year.
HOCKEY
We are delighted to announce that Olivia Back (Year 12) has
been selected for the England Hockey Under 18 squad, following
on from a successful Futures Cup. Only 108 girls made it through
the hockey single system selection process, of which just 34 were
then chosen for the National Squad. We are also thrilled that
Owen Lloyd (Year 9) has made it through to the England Hockey
Under 15 HiPAC this year, which is the highest achievement that
he can earn at an Under 15 level.
Isobel Knight performing at The Dance World Cup
DANCE
Isobel Knight (Year 13) recently competed as part of Team
England in The Dance World Cup at Fort Regent in St Helier,
Jersey, along with 42 other dancers from the Dupont Dance
Stage School. During the week-long event, Isobel clinched Jack Nightingale in action
four golds, five silvers and one bronze in trio and group dance
routines. Despite facing fierce competition from over 4,000
competitors from 37 different countries, Team England were CRICKET
named overall champions. Well done to Jack Nightingale (Year 12), who is currently in the
Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s Sub-Academy. Jack also
FOOTBALL played at the prestigious Bunbury Festival and was awarded the

CROSS COUNTRY
RUGBY Congratulations to Alice Daniel (16), Alfie Thompson (Year 13)

Under 18 County Rugby Team who recently won the Midland the Cross Country Championships; all three won bronze medals
Under 18 County Championships. in their individual events.
