Prayers for no rain were said for us by a number of local worthies challenge, with 36 holes of Betterball Stableford played off the

Baltic air and blasts of sleet. Nevertheless, armed with thermal respective Old Oundelians, Loughburians, Wellingburians and

         THE RATCLIFFIAN ASSOCIATION GOLF SHIELD:

OLD RATCLIFFIANS VS RATCLIFFE STAFF & PUPILS

         THURSDAY 19TH MAY 2016

It was another great match this year, although the teams battled
with wet weather, and the ORs won the Ratcliffian Golf Shield.
The School’s best pair, Declan McAuley (16) and Jack Hancock
(16), were an impressive 6 under handicap over the 11 holes, and
they were in Year 13 (Upper Sixth Form to us) at the time. They
have since played for the ORs (from July onwards), which was
more good news for the Association! We finished off the day by
having sandwiches and drinks in the clubhouse to socialise and
         dry out.

The OR players were: Bernard Murphy (67), James Fagence-
Browne (07), Abe Mee (92), Donal Heffernan (75), James
         Belderbos (89), Matt Hilton (90), Ben Surtees-Smith (97) and
         Andrew Yell (82).
                                                              Both teams after dinner
